Cat Found Built Into Wall Of New House

cat in wallGiving a new meaning to the 9 lives of a cat, one unlucky (or perhaps lucky) cat was recently found behind the wall of a house are being built into the walls.

According to WMTW, the homeowner and workers heard the cat making noises.

“We started banging on the walls and bathtub, and (the cat) started again,” said homeowner Emily Vano. “Our voices probably triggered him to say, ‘I’m here, I’m here!’”

The builder estimated the cat had been stuck in the walls at least three weeks.

“The contractor figured out he was just under the tub and got dry walled in,” Vano said.

Workers tore a hole in the wall, made some cat calls, and the scared, tired and thirsty animal crawled out.

“Poor little thing. So sorry we built you into the house,” Vano said.

Vano took the cat to a veterinary hospital, where he’s being called Hal, because he was found just before Halloween. The homeowner hopes the cat’s owner will come forward.

Awww .. that poor puddy tat – That’s exactly what happened to me back in 1993 in my 1st house .. it had one of those crawl space holes and houses plopped on top of it. Cats used to come and go under my house and into my 9 ft sq. basement where my water heater was. When I put a new bathroom in, one climbed up between the tub surround and the walls (i guess towards the light of the shower head?) and got stuck. It was two days later that I heard the mewing .. and I had to cut the cat out of the new walls! Despite that, the cat chose to live with me anyway. Eventually, my house was just too small for the both of us, and I introduced “Alley Kat” (she) to my brother’s cat .. “Kitty Kat” (he) and they lived happily ever after becoming great great great grandKats.

Oh my gosh – I saw this on the local (greater Kansas City metro) news! I couldn’t believe they actually built a house around a cat! LOL!

Sure glad they rescued the little fella!
