Catholic magazine apologizes for naked rear
One of Italy’s most popular magazines, the wholesome Famiglia Cristiana weekly, will apologize to its readers for printing an advertisement which showed a woman’s naked bottom, the magazine said Tuesday.
According to Reuters, the advert caused a storm as it was the first time the Catholic magazine, whose title means “Christian Family,” had shown nudity, a common feature in many non-religious magazines in Italy in both advertising and editorial content.
“Modesty and chastity are important values for us and we are not giving them up,” editor Antonio Sciortino wrote in a message apologizing to readers to be published in the next issue which goes on sale Wednesday.
