Police in Aurora have confirmed that a 12-year-old boy who said he brought powdered sugar to school for a science project last week has been charged with a felony for possessing a look-alike drug.
CBS2 reports that the sixth grade student at Waldo Middle School in Aurora also was suspended for two weeks from school after showing the bag of powdered sugar to his friends.

An Australian tourist has been charged with assault after telling a Texas woman to stop talking on her mobile phone at the movies.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Pauline Clayton was enjoying a matinee screening of Brokeback Mountain in a Texas cinema when her day suddenly turned ugly.
About halfway through the movie, a mobile phone started ringing nearby, a woman answered it and started talking.
“I put one finger up to my mouth to shoosh her,” Ms Clayton said.
“She ignored me – I then leaned across and touched her with three or four fingers on the top of her arm.”

The Austrian owner of a 22-year-old Dachshund says the secret of his dog’s long life is cigarettes.
According to Ananova, Wolfgang Treitler, from Graz, says his dog General Edi has been munching his way through 10 cigarettes a day for years.
Treitler said: “His old owner abandoned him and so we took him in 17 years ago, and noticed straight away that he was in the habit of eating cigarettes.

A boy at Downey Elementary in Brockton, Mass., was suspended from school for three days last month after school officials said that he sexually harassed a girl in his class.
According to WBAL, Elementary school officials called the boy’s mother, Berthena Dorinvil, on Jan. 30, and asked her to pick up her child from the school. Dorinvil said that officials told her that her son was being suspended for sexually harassing a 6-year-old female classmate.

Two Hickman High School students disrupted a multicultural assembly in the school’s auditorium by unfurling a Confederate flag from the balcony.
According to Showmenews, Ryan Lanman, 17, who is white, and a friend enacted their plan while another student was singing “The Yellow Rose of Texas” to commemorate the Spanish-American War and honor Texas.
After the disruption, the students involved were told to leave, and the assembly continued, Principal Mike Jeffers said, adding that he couldn’t talk about whether the students would be disciplined.

Ever wonder what supermarkets put into processed ham? Well a UK man lost his appetite recently when he found “dog sh*t” listed among the ingredients on a packet of ham.
Mick Woods, 34, examined another of the 300g containers and saw the same ‘additive’ listed on the label.
And he admitted: “Obviously I haven’t eaten it. It sort of puts you off.”

A married couple pleaded no contest to charges they ran a brothel across the street from a Concord police station, Contra Costa County authorities said. Debra Watts, 52, will serve one year of home detention after pleading to three felony counts of pimping and pandering, prosecutor Jose Marin said Monday.
Yahoo News reports that her husband, Ernest Watts, 63, pleaded to one misdemeanor count of maintaining a house of prostitution, Marin said.
Investigators said the couple ran the brothel for a year in an apartment located a few hundred feet from the Concord police station and used the Internet to solicit clients.

(AP) An Utah man who called police to report the theft of a quarter-pound of marijuana was arrested when police recovered the bag of pot and then invited him to come to the Public Safety Building to identify it.
Kory C. Tippetts, 18, identified the pot as his and then was arrested and booked into the Utah County jail for investigation of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone with intent to distribute, police said Tuesday.
