A Strange New Robot Helper For the Elderly
I’m not really sure what these strange eye things are for but they do have the ability to recognize faces and voices. I think it’s creepy as hell…
Here’s what the AP says about the picture:
Keiko Uchida, an employee of Japan’s Systec Akazawa, chats with a prototype of the eye-shaped communication robot MuuSocia in Tokyo. The robot, developed to help the elderly, recognizes human faces and voices and talks back to users. It’s expected to hit the market in 2007.
