NBC Sued By Garbage Disposal Company
NBC is being sued by garbage disposal company Emerson appliance because of the scene in the last episode of the new hit TV show Heroes where CLAIRE BENNET played by Hayden Panettiere sticks her hand into a sink garbage disposal and cuts her fingers off.
US company that produces In-Sink-Erator garbage disposals wants to prevent NBC from future airings because of the scene in which the high-school cheerleader who has the special ability to withstand injury stick her fingers into one of those disposals while it is running, destroying her fingers, although they do go back to normal a few seconds later.
Emerson appliance maker claims the episode “casts the disposer in an unsavory light, irreparably tarnishing the product” as it appears that “in the event consumers were to accidentally insert their hand into one” they would sustain serious injuries. NBC has yet to provide comment. Via Televisionista
