Colbert Fans Take Presidential Rejection Too Far
Check out this story picked up by Evening Talk. While Stephen Colbert has graciously admitted defeat in his short-lived effort to secure a place in the South Carolina Democratic presidential primary, his fans are not letting up!
According to a memo sent by South Carolina Democratic Executive Council to Gary Spitz, the executive producer of the Colbert Report, some fans have actually been advocating the use of violence against the council for its decision to bar the popular satirical news host from running. Now given that the source is ColbertNation.com, it is possible the fans are just having a bit of fun by drumming up some contreversy. If not, however, please take note: YOU’RE TAKING THIS WAY TOO FAR!
Colbertism is a religion of peace and those who advocate violence on its behalf are practicing a perverted version of Colbertism which most fans do not practice. We hope that this incident will not lead to a rise in the incidents of colbertaphobia and fan profiling. Needless to say, we have our lawyers at the ready. *smirk.
