Britney Spears’ Sister Pregnant
All I can say is… wow. I mean, accidents happen, but for Britney Spears‘ 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn to get knocked up just seems disturbingly appropriate. The sperm source is long-time boyfriend Corey Aldridge.
This will probably mean she’ll need to take a break from filming her popular Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101" but producers have confirmed that the next season has already been filmed. Of course, I can see her career going in a similar path of her sister’s, that is bust. Teenage stars don’t generally bounce back too well from preganancy. If family history is any telling example, well, the squeaky clean image just doesn’t stick after a few buns in the oven.
Fortunately (?) for her child-to-be, she plans to raise her with her family in Lousiana "so it can have a normal family life." Good luck with that one.
Another Spears baby is reportedly on the way — and it’s not Britney’s.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine that she’s pregnant and that the father is her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.
"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she said. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."
Spears is 12 weeks along and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.
What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex? "I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait," she told the magazine. "But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in."
After she found out from a doctor that she was pregnant, she said, "I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody." Video Watch how pregnancy could impact Spears’ career »
"Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me," she said.
Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reported.

I am not shocked by her pregnancy. I bet the pregnancy was planned. With couples their ages, they believe they’re going to be together forever. From that, it turns into a discussion about having children. They truly believe having a child together is an expression of their love. I can see her saying “I love you so much, I want to have your child.” It could have very well been her boyfriend saying that he wanted Jamie Lynn to have his child. Jamie Lynn probably even envied her sister for having children. I got pregnant at 14 and I was so happy, because I thought I was ready to have a child. A friend of mines had a child about a year before I found out I was pregnant and I was so jealous. I have always loved babies and wanted one of my own (as though a child is a toy). I thought I was ready to give up my childhood and freedom to raise a child. I was looking at motherhood as this fairy tale. Jamie Lynn was well aware of the consequences of having sex. She knew that getting pregnant was a possibility, but she didn’t care, because she is “Jamie Lynn Spears” the sister of “Britney Spears”. She probably even did it for the publicity and attention. She knows that she is now about to be the talk of the Country, just like her sister. She may even be envious of all the attention her sister is getting and wants some of the spotlight. I just can’t believe that with all her sister has gone through with losing her sons, she would be so irresponsible. I know she is only 16, and at that age, we all made some dumb mistakes, but considering her career as an actor, she should have been more conscientious of the decisions she made. Just as we are responsible for our actions on our jobs, she too should have had to be. She is not just some regular 16-year-old working at McDonalds, she is a teen star. She has people that look up to her, whether she wants that or not. She knows how it goes in showbiz. It’s not fair, but it’s life. We all have to deal with the decisions we make in life. I also don’t like the fact that she is in a sense boasting about her situation. Here she is on the front page of this magazine along with the words in big bold print, “I am pregnant”. It’s as though she is glorifying her situation. Regardless of what she had to say or how she said it during her interview, the situation is not “cute”, which I am sure she thinks it is. And now she is about to make money and get all this notoriety behind the fact that she is 16 and pregnant. How wonderful it must be to be white, rich, and famous. Everything you do is glorified. What if this had happened to Raven Samone at Jamie Lynn’s age? Of course America would not have been surprised because that is something they expect from an African American teen. But you know she would not have received as much attention and publicity for it because she is black. I think Jamie Lynn should be suspended from the show. Not because she is pregnant, but because she was irresponsible. She took her fame lightly. As though she is invisible. Everybody is talking about using her pregnancy as an example to other teens and I agree, but also use her as an example as to what happens when you are irresponsible and make bad decisions and choose to do grown-up things as a child. Let these teenagers know that you are going to make bad decisions in life, but you have to own up to them when the decisions you make blows up in your face. Don’t reward Jamie Lynn for this; let this be a lesson learned for her. She can also use this time apart from the show to reflect on everything that has taken place. She needs to decide what’s more important, her career or 2 minutes in the sack with a guy that she will more than likely not be with a year if not less from now. Unless the teens’ parents convince them to get married.
Wow, who would have thought this would ever happen ? DUH ! And the only reason it made headlines is because they are both in the limelight. What gets me is some lamer is saying, “Hmmm….do we bring him up on statutory rape charges?” Uh, it was CONSENSUAL, so it don’t matter what the age difference is long as she aint like 12 …….my God, we are such a police state/nation anymore.

I’m 40, so by your account, I should be allowed to convince a 15 year-old to have “consensual” sex with me, right?
A big reason why statutory rape laws exist is that people as young as Jamie Lynn Spears are not emotionally/financially equipped to raise children. If 40-year-olds were allowed to have “consensual” sex with minors, we’d have a massive baby boom born to high-school-aged mothers.

What a low life trailer park-trashy family in total ! My kids will not be watching her program; she represents everything that is wrong. Lock up her boyfriend? No Way – he has a lifetime of support for a child to look forward to; I look back when I was his age and am glad I had a full life without the burden he is going to have; I just wish the best for the child and am sorry it will be raised in this family.
Let’s see: A 16 year old millionaire gets pregnant. Unlike other “average” 16 year olds who get pregnant, the biggest worry Spears’ sister is going to have is which high priced prep school her child is going to go to. She is NOT a role model. She’s an actress with a lot of money. So she’s not a priest or the moral compass for today’s youth. And to those who believe she is, try to remember that this girl may have made what you call a mistake but she’ll have no problem living with it. That’s the difference between the wealthy and the poor. The wealthy could care less what the poor think. This wealthy actress (not little girl) will have an unlimited resource of money to care for her child and many more should she choose to do so. To parents who believe this girl is evil, wrong or stupid: grow up. She’s rich. Stick to parenting your own children and stop worrying about the choices millioniares make. They sure as hell don’t care about you or your family. So stop worrying about theirs.

This is all such unfortunate news, and I hope that this somehow will help the family grow closer, and possibly improve Britney’s relationship with her sister.
