ESPN Couch Potato Winner Announced
It was only a few days ago that we reported that ESPN Zone was holding a competition in New York City’s Times Square to determine the ultimate couch potato. Well, a winner has been announced.
The inglorious prize goes to Stan Friedman who sat out his competition in 29 hours with only scheduled bathroom breaks every 8 hours and no sleep. The runner-up gave up when he had to rush to an unscheduled bathroom break. I guess he had one beer too many.
Unfortunately for Stan, his winning time is still a long-shot from the Guinness Book World Record of 69 hours and 48 minutes. I can see the t-shirt now: "I Sat Like a Lump in Front of the TV for 29 Hours and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt… and a 14" HD TV and Recliner"
Hear the whole report at NPR.org.

Make that a 42″ hdtv. And the recliner was totally worth it!
