PETA Bored, Attacks KFC
I have every respect for vegetarians and could never condone the mistreatment of animals, but this latest PETA campaign is just a bit over the top.
The State of Kentucky is considering a measure which would declare fried chicken from the Colonel’s own Kentucky Fried Chicken the state’s official picnic food. While I think it’s more than a bit obnoxious to give that kind of official recognition to any particularly business, the folks over at the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are taking it up a notch. They charge that the chicken KFC serves are abused and tortured prior to slaughtering.
PETA vice president Bruce Friedrich has this to say:
“If the state legislature moves forward with this one, then they should change Kentucky’s state bird from the cardinal to the debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken.”
Not exactly the advertising slogan they’re goin’ for there Bruce… but then I think he knows that. Anyone know if there is any veracity to their claims?

Look, people are too stupid and uncaring to listen to a rational, patient PETA. So, they’ve had to resort to more outlandish claims to get their message across. Are they doing more harm to their cause this way? Possibly. Hypocrites? Hell no.
