Ecoterrorists from the Earth Liberation Front have been busy in Seattle. They burned down five luxury homes and left a sign calling them “McMansions”.

Terrorism! It is becoming the most abused and overused word in our language today. The destruction of these houses was not an act of terrorism. It was arson. It was wanton property damage. It was criminal. If anyone had been killed then it would be murder. The guilty should be tried and punished. But it isn’t terrorism. Terrorism is about killing people. These houses were not occupied. People were not deliberately targeted. It is bad journalism to toss out the word “terrorism” when it doesn’t apply.
