ABC News reports that troubled rapper DMX was arrested for the second time in a week today. Even by rap music standards, that’s excessive. Today “X,” whose real name is Earl Simmons, (yeah, I’d go with a rap handle of some sort too) faces charges of felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
In something like a scene from one of the rapper’s videos, he barricaded himself in the bedroom of his Arizona home as the Maricopa County SWAT team came to serve the warrants.
The sheriff’s department said those warrants result from an August indictment in which they seized 12 pit bull mixes from the rapper’s property. Deputies also found three dog carcasses partially buried on site as well as drugs. Hmmm. Have celebrities learned nothing from the Michael Vick case?
