Talk About a Crappy Flight
How was the service on your last airline flight? If you didn’t have to sit in the bathroom, you were treated better than a New York man alleges he was on a JetBlue flight in February.
Reuters reports Gokhan Mutlu checked in for a flight from New York to San Diego and says he was told the flight was full. But an airline attendant supposedly agreed to give up her seat and travel in an airline “jump seat.”
According to the suit, the attendant became uncomfortable and the pilot asked Mutlu to “hang out in the bathroom” for the remainder of the flight. Mutlu said at one point the flight experienced turbulence and he had to sit on the toilet without a seat belt. This is so weird I don’t have a pithy comment ready.
If this actually happened in this fashion, it was pretty dumb of the airline employees. But the lawsuit’s asking for $2 million for “extreme humilation.” I’d sit on an airline toilet seat for two hours if there was a cool $2 million in it. Who I am kidding? I’d sit on the wing for $2 million.
