Gas Thief Burns Himself While Stealing
And our parade of gas-inspired foolishness continues. The Grand Junction Sentinel reports an 18-year-old Colorado man rushed himself to the hospital May 2 with burns on his hands he got siphoning gas. Oh, it gets better. It seems Cody Sellars peered into a portable gas tank with a cigarette lighter to see how full it was.
Wow. After that outstanding moment in mental gymnastics, the fumes ignited catching Sellars’ clothes on fire. Sellars and his friend Timothy Long, 19, were stealing gas from a four-wheeler and a boat. They’ll be charged with fourth-degree arson, theft and trespassing for their stupidity. There’s got to be a way to lock Sellars up longer. He’s a danger to himself and others.
