Gasoline Protest Singer Arrested
The Associated Press reports a man climbed to the top of a Valparaiso, Ind. convenience store roof with a guitar and megaphone to sing about the evils of overpriced gasoline. He picked up an adoring throng of fans before police showed up and took him into custody.
Jay Weinberg, 29, performed a song called Price Goug’n for some 15 minutes before the authorities arrested him on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
The crowd that had gathered continued singing Price Goug’n and some of them followed his wife Danielle to Porter County Jail to go bail him out. After he left the jail, they greeted him with cheers. Maybe they could sell his CD’s next to gas pumps.
