A Hair-Raising Drug Bust in Norway
We have reported on some interesting ways to smuggle drugs lately – there was the guy with the cocaine diaper Becky just talked about. There are the smugglers who made a cocaine Jesus. But this latest stunt sounds downright painful.
A British woman whose name hasn’t been released caught the attention of Norwegian customs agents on Sunday with a bulging wig. She was trying unsuccessfully to get through Vaernes Airport. Agents investigated and found 2.2 pounds of coke glued to her head.
Norway’s Verdens Gang newspaper (I don’t know that means in Norwegian, but it sounds like the toughest paper ever) reports the drugs were glued so tight to her actual hair they had to be removed at a hospital. Um, ouch! I don’t know what they pay drug mules who glue stuff to their scalp, but the question of whether it’s worth it has to be asked.
How was whoever was going to receive the drugs going to remove them from her head? Drug pushers are not known for their patience and diplomacy.
