Arkansas License Plates ‘Racist’
File this one under “You have got to be kidding me.” Hundreds of Arkansas license plates are being pulled from circulation this week. Like North Carolina, the plates are considered offensive. But in this case, some residents are calling them racist.
Really? How can a license plate with a random letter/ number combo be racist? (We can see how a personalized one could be. But random ones? Hardly.) An Arkansas woman complained that she couldn’t imagine putting a plate with “018-NGR” on her car.
You have got to be joking here. It’s not like the OMV did that on purpose. It seems like everything is racist recently. You’re seeing something that isn’t there, people. NGR does not stand for a racist word in this case. You need to stop reading into things. It’s just a random letter combination.
The OMV did decide to recall the plates just because some people may find it offensive. While we can see why they would want to do that, the people complaining really should find better things to do. Like grow some begonias or get a fish pedicure.
