Bicycle drive-by shooting

Bicycles-SmNow you really know gas has gotten too high for everyone when gang members start doing drive-bys on a bike. Yes, a bicycle.

A man and a woman were shot by two men on bicycles in South Los Angeles. The men rolled up, shot the two, and then pedaled away. The man was hit in the hand, while the woman was hit in the rear. As in rear end. Ouch.

Police think that the incident is gang-related. Unfortunately, the shooters haven’t been located yet.

That’s pretty sad, folks. Not only did those two poor people get shot, it was done via bicycle drive-by. The only thing more embarrassing would be an Amish drive-by (come on, you’ve all heard the old joke).

If they don’t have a lawyer yet, they soon will and they’ll claim these drive-bys were inspired by Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

It really does not matter whether or not it was from a game, I play video games, it doesn’t mean that I am going to run around town with a sword a tights to save a princess. Everyone knows right from worng.. well, mostly everyone.

Unfortunately, people may know right from wrong, but they choose to ignore it. Too frequently.

Yeah, I never buy the “video game” made me do it defenses. One of the main reasons is they always blame the same game – GTA. If violent games really make you shoot people, shouldn’t somebody have gone off because True Crime: Streets of LA or Scarface:The World Is Yours made them do it?

That never happens because the lawyers know the judge hasn’t heard of those games. But I had an 80-year-old reader reference GTA the other day. It’s instant pub for the upcoming trial. Ah, our culture of shifting blame.
