It seems Quinton Jackson may take his nickname Rampage a little too seriously according to a bizarre incident being reported by TMZ. The former light heavyweight champ led Costa Mesa police on a five-minute chase Tuesday afternoon after the officer tried to pull Jackson over because of a flat tire. Jackson was also driving while talking on his cellphone, which recently became illegal in California.
During the pursuit, according to police reports, Jackson weaved in and out of traffic and even drove on the sidewalk at one point. After Jackson’s tire blew completely out and came off the rim the chase ended. Jackson will be charged with hit-and-run driving, felony evading and reckless driving.
Yeah despite what you may have seen on the Dukes of Hazzard, running from the cops almost never turns out well. I can’t imagine what might have gotten into Jackson, who used to be one of the fastest rising stars in MMA. Oh well, I hear Jose Canseco’s looking for opponents. Making decisions like this, Jackson may come to need that money sooner rather than later.
