Edwards Admits Matrimonial Oopsie
If only the Democrats had known this before, he’d have been the perfect candidate. The Associated Press reports that former presidential candidate John Edwards has admitted to an extramarital affair he has spent the past year denying, a tryst with a woman that produced videos for his campaign.
That sound you just heard is America cutting John out of the sympathy loop he shared with his cancer-stricken wife. Now Elizabeth is pitied not just because of her illness, but because of her hubby’s cheatin’ heart. While he’s admitting to the affair, he’s still adamant that he’s not the woman’s baby daddy. She has a daughter born in February and listed no father on the birth certificate. A former campaign staffer says he is the father. Sheesh, was there any actual campaigning going on during the John Edwards presidential campaign?
One of the saddest parts of this was that the National Enquirer broke the story. Mainstream newspapers must be choking on their ink having to cite the Enquirer as a source in this investigation.
