Texas Woman Could Be Too Fat to Go To Jail
Well, here’s a defense judges do not hear every day: Your honor, my client is not in court today because she is too large to fit through her own front door. The McAllen Monitor tells us Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, 27, was indicted Friday in connection with the death of her 2-year-old nephew Eliseo Gonzales Jr.
Eliseo died March 18 and police believe Rosales struck him twice in the head. She told authorities she accidentally crushed the boy trying to pick him up off the floor. Unfortunately at that size, that sounds like a plausible story. I don’t know how you would go about proving what somebody that size intended to do or accidentally did. I question why the boy’s mother left him with someone that’s basically an invalid. Police have the same questions, as they charged his mother Jaime Rosales with injury to a child. She had an agreement with social services not to leave the boy alone with his aunt, who was obviously ill equipped to care for a child or herself, for that matter.
But Mayra Rosales is not in custody and officials aren’t sure when she will be, because she weighs almost 1,000 lbs. Not only do they not know how to get her out of her home, Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino doesn’t know where he would put her. She needs extensive medical attention beyond what the local jail would be able to provide.

Who fed her? I really put less blame on anyone over 400 pounds because after that, you can’t do anything on your own.
