Not News Alert: Clay Aiken Reveals He’s Gay
MTV News is among hundreds of media outlets reporting that American Idol star Clay Aiken will come out of the closet in the next issue of People Magazine. In a related story in that same issue, The Sky will reveal that it’s blue and Chickens will confess that they lay eggs.
Aiken’s been on the world’s “gaydar” ever since he came onto the pop music scene. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Aiken, who appears with his son Parker Foster on the magazine cover said he didn’t want to raise a child to lie or hide things. And let’s face it, Parker probably wasn’t going to have an easy time in school anyway. It’s rough being a celeb kid these days.
The singer has been defensive on the issue of his sexuality for years and that’s generally the first red flag. As insensitive a reaction as it may be, if you ask the average heterosexual male about his sexuality they do not generally respond with “it’s none of your business.”
This brings me to a question. Is Aiken going to apologize for nearly biting Diane Sawyer’s head off in a 2006 interview when she dared to ask the question?
