Try Scoring the TD Before Celebrating
You know, we just declared Chad Ocho Cinco our favorite athlete but he suddenly has competition. The Philadelphia Eagles’ DeSean Jackson is the first rookie wide receiver in league history to start the season with back-to-back 100-yard games.
But that’s not why everybody’s talking about Jackson today. No it’s because on Monday Night Football, Jackson almost scored a 61-yard touchdown but flipped the ball backwards in celebration. Unaware of where he was on the field, he flipped the ball before he scored the touchdown. Instead of a 60-plus yard TD, Jackson earned a long pass play and embarrassing fumble. Lucky for him the Eagles scored from the one-yard line.
OK, that’s fine. We all make mistakes. Surely he will never do anything like this again. Except he has done something just like it before, in a high-school all-star game. That time he tried a leap into the endzone but let the ball slip out, you guessed it, before scoring.
