Does Your DS Swear?

MBR A British mum is pretty sure that her son’s Nintendo DS Scrabble game was playing swear words against him. The boy is 8 years old.

One of the first words against the boy? Tits. And it even defined it as an informal word for breasts. Wow. Just, wow. Guess it’s a good thing it doesn’t have a picture dictionary?

So the woman tested the game, claiming that other swear words were used, too. The game was supposed to be suitable for young children, but she strongly disagrees and is warning other parents to completely avoid the game.

Nintendo blamed the game publishers for the issues. No word about whether they’ll make updates or change its child-friendly claim.

We try to watch our language around the kids as much as possible. They’re going to learn some of them just by listening to the TV. Heck, I learned “damn” from Three’s Company! But I’m not really sure I would want my 8-year-old learning to use swear words in Scrabble. What about you – would you let your kid play this game?
