This is a frightening but true – O.K. not frightening but definitely true story from my college journalism days. We were just starting an opinion writing course at LSU-Shreveport and our instructor tossed us a softball. He asked us to write a column about Labor Day.

I know she’s only 15, but how does anyone of any age pose for Vanity Fair and not think they’ll run the raciest, most controversial picture of the entire shoot? That’s what they do. The average Playboy cover shows less skin than Vanity Fair typically does.

Yeah, Jeremiah Wright has crossed the line from controversial to completely off his religious rocker. It’s one thing to insinuate the United States goaded the terrorists into attacking us on 9/11.

Beyonce Revealed was the title of a special on the E! Channel and it – wasn’t what I expected it all. She didn’t even have a bikini on. That’s got to fall under the category of false advertising, right?
Anyway, don’t get sucked in like I did. Somebody should call the network on these bait and switch tactics. Of course, I guess this does mean it’s finally safe to watch Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels.
