At my undergraduate lecture today on National Security, the professor was talking about US Intelligence and familiarizing the students with the various agencies’ websites. The last site we visited, belonging to the National Security Agency (NSA), had a little surprise.
See if you can figure out what it is in the screenshot below. Click on […]

There is very little I can say about this video that it doesn’t say for itself. I wish I had a trunk monkey.
By the by, check out the service from where we got the video. Utterz.com is a really cool service where you can automatically post to your blog just by making a phone […]

You may not know it, but cows are actually one of the rudest animals around. In fact, they belch so frequently and in such large numbers that the methane they release may contribute to global warming.
One Swedish university has taken this very seriously and been awarded $590,000 in funds to research the phenomenon. According […]

This just seems all too appropriate now that I have just finished watching the entire original Planet of the Apes movie series on AMC. According to researchers examining macaque monkeys in Indonesia, some males "pay" their mates for sex by grooming.
Apparently the likelihood that a female would have sex with a male was increased by […]

The LAPD has gotten rat-wise and decided to allow feral cats to roam several police stations to hunt down mice. This almost almost reminds me of that old Hanna Barbara show Top Cat… except here the cops are working with the street urchins.
Not a bad idea… that is until the cats start having kittens! Check […]

It looks like zoo security was more than a bit lacking on Christmas at the San Francisco Zoo when a tiger escaped from her cage. Before being gunned down by police, she killed one zoo visitor and mauled two others.
Tatiana, the 300 pound Siberian tiger, apparently had a history of aggressive tendencies including one […]

If fundamentalist humans are upset about the evolutionary likelihood that humans and apes are descendent from a common ancestor, imagine how fundamentalist whales might feel after this news. :-D According to paleontologists, the earliest ancestral relative of modern whales has been discovered in Kashmir, India. The fossil bears very little resemblance to whales however.
The animal […]

Apparently there is a very good reason why everyone’s favorite bouncing marsupial doesn’t like to swim. Eyewitnesses in Southern Australia report that they saw a kangaroo head out for a swim in the ocean only to be devoured by an enormous shark!
The BBC is reporting that experts say kangaroos will only go into the water […]

It seems like a good day for videos. Check out this hard hitting piece from the Onion and be sure to watch through the commercial because there’s an extra segment at the end.
I’ll be damned before the Water Buffalo enjoy the same rights I do!

I have no idea if this story is reputable or not. If it is, however, what a great story to share for Thanksgiving.
According to WayOdd.com, today President George W. Bush officially pardoned two turkeys named May and Flower, staying their execution for our holiday meals. Reportedly Vice President Dick Cheney preferred the names Lunch and […]
