Baseball Team Gets 66 Runs in Two Innings

Here’s an interesting sporting tidbit from Reuters News Service. Thursday they reported a Japanese high school baseball team forfeited a game after giving up 66 runs in 1 1/3 innings of play.
The poor kid on the mound had thrown 250 pitches, giving up 22 runs in the first inning and having allowed 40 more […]

Boy Challenges World Record- By A Nose

You know we at Simply Dumb love the Guinness Book of World Records. One could almost make up a record off the top of their head and it would probably be in there. Case in point: Thirteen-year-old Andrew Dahl inflated 213 balloons within an hour Friday in the Blaine, Washington public library, using his nose. […]

Smithsonian Is Not Smarter than 5th Grader

Staff at the world-renowned Smithsonian Institute Museum of Natural History are red-faced after a 5th grader on a family trip pointed out a mistake that’s been there for nearly 30 years.
Kenton Stufflebeam, an 11-year-old from Michigan, noticed a bold notation in the museum’s Tower of Time display that mistakenly identified the Precambrian as an era. […]

Here’s an ingenious site I stumbled across yesterday.  I thought you might all enjoy Garfield minus Garfield.

Trek Fans Rejoice, Borg Baby Born

That’s right folks, actress Jeri Ryan best known for her role as 7 of 9 on Star Trek’s canceled spin-off series Voyager, has given birth to little baby Giselle.
I hope the wiring, jagged metal, and other odds and ends didn’t hurt too much to push out.  That’s going to be one scary looking kid!

Mike Huckabee Overstays His Welcome

Republican presidential contender Governor Mike Huckabee made an appearance on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update last night to show America that he may be down but he is not out.
…This even after co-host Seth Meyers pointed out that winning would be a mathematical impossibility at this point.  Fortunately for him, Mr. Huckabee is more […]

Say What? from John Cox

One of my more favorite artists these days is John Cox.  He’s also a painter, illustrator, and former political cartoonist with Allen Forkum.  Unfortunately, they’ve retired from the political cartoon racket but John has kept up his work on his own site.
About every week he puts up an amusing picture like the one featured above […]
