This is a frightening but true – O.K. not frightening but definitely true story from my college journalism days. We were just starting an opinion writing course at LSU-Shreveport and our instructor tossed us a softball. He asked us to write a column about Labor Day.
Most of us breathed a sigh of relief at the easy assignment, except for one guy who asked whether we had to be in favor of or opposed to Labor Day. Dr. Nolan paused, as neither he or anyone else had thought of the concept of being opposed to Labor Day.
