La. State Senate Nixes Baggy Pants Ban
Ah, my old home Louisiana. The Associated Press out of Baton Rouge reports that a state senate panel rejected a bill that would have criminalized sagging pants.
The bill proposed by Sen. Derrick Shepherd would have made illegal any clothing that “intentionally exposes undergarments or intentionally exposes any portion of the pubic hair, cleft of the buttocks or genitals.” Ewww. It’s kind of a shame we might need legislation to tell people that. If the bill had passed, penalties would have included a $175 fine and eight days of community service.
